ParadoxShift is a chess variant where every piece can vanish one turn — and reappear at its destination moments later. Plan attacks across turns. Coordinate timed arrivals. Defend against threats that don't exist yet.
Why ParadoxShift
The rules you know, expanded by a mechanic that changes everything.
Any legal move can be played temporally. Your piece phases out, travels unseen for a calculated number of turns, and materializes at its destination — destroying whatever occupies that square.
Coordinate timed arrivals like a conductor leading an orchestra. Set traps across turns, bait your opponent into moving to a square that won't exist when your piece arrives.
Rise from The Initiate to The Paradox Grandmaster. Each tier unlocks new piece types that can travel, tightens cooldowns, pits you against a sharper AI, and even adds a new mechanic: The Rift.
Play ranked matches with Glicko-2 ratings, challenge friends by name, spectate live games, and climb the leaderboard.
Earn the Sketchy theme through campaign play or unlock exclusive visual styles. Your board, your aesthetic.
When the countdown expires, the board's edges open. Sliding pieces gain wrap-around moves — a rook on h3 can continue from a3. Close the rift before your opponent exploits it.
